- Good action: Introduction of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community Land Claims Settlement Act of 2025. Bill HR411 in the house, and S. 642 introduced by Sen Gary Peters in the senate.
- "directs the Department of the Interior to transfer $33.9 million in funds to the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community (KBIC) to settle the KBIC's land claims and clear title to those lands."
- Unfortunately, govetrack.us gives both bills a very small probability of passing.

- U.S. Rep. Jack Bergman (R-Watersmeet) said Trump not being on the ballot means Republicans must focus on voter turnout. If they don’t get the turnout equation right in 2026, Republicans could lose the U.S. House, and that would render the last years of Trump’s presidency dead in the water.

- Groups that file free disability claims for vets oppose bill allowing companies to charge a fee, Linda F. Hersey, Stars and Stripes
"Rep. Jack Bergman, R-Mich., is leading a bill that would allow for-profit companies to provide initial claims assistance, for a fee, to veterans filing for disability compensation."
"The CHOICE for Veterans Act would allow private for-profit companies to offer initial claims assistance and charge up to $12,500 — or an amount equal to five times a monthly benefit award “increase,” according to the legislation. But the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and other veterans service organizations argue the help already is provided without charge by trained members of their organizations who receive accreditation from the VA."

- And it was mentioned on the national Scott Dworkin's report:
- 'There was another empty-seat town hall in GOP Rep. Jack Bergman’s district in Michigan. One of our readers, MC Friedrich, said: “two overflow rooms listened to participants record their 3-minute remarks.” One attendee was teacher Christiana Reynolds, who turned to the empty chair and “thanked” Bergman for taking the time to be there. Reynolds said Trump is “illegally trying to destroy the Dept. of Education,” and wondered what kids are “supposed to do when our high schools start closing?”'
