CRAG short Action note
Hello CRAG Team,
Just a short note today.
(Sorry for yesterday’s extra long missive, partially copied below. For previous emails see the archive)
Welcome more new people! My list is now >120.
I need help. Here are some quick things you can do to support this local effort:
1. Commit to show up at a local city/township/village/etc meeting.Bodies are important, even if you don’t speak. (These rooms are warmer than the bridge!)
- Can you help make a list of when/where these bodies are meeting? I have started a list.
2. Identify local impacts of the coup, these are essential draw the links between federal actions and local citizens.
- Immediate impacts to you or your family
- Impacts to local programs that depend of federal support (≈29% of Houghton Co “Enterprise Funds" are federal.)
- Cascading impacts on communities. e.g. on jobs, housing, education, and other things these officials care about.
- Your worries for future impacts
These can be a few words off the top of your head, or a dive into the data. Send by email or Signal.
3. Rally Monday at noon at the bridge.
Details below on these and other actions from yesterday’s note.
People have been sending links to other national actions. I’m trying to focus on the local, but will share a list of those broader efforts in a later note.
Stay well
Sarah
